The Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District (GBRB&PD) is a special taxing district established by the State Legislature for the acquisition and development of parklands. The residents of the Beach & Park District elect the GBRB&PD Board of 5 Commissioners.
The GBRB&PD and the City of Boca Raton jointly operate and maintain this park, which consists of fifty-five (55) acres of passive and active recreation facilities. Park facilities include a Community Center, softball and baseball fields, soccer/football fields, fitness trail, a children's playground, basketball courts, and eight (8) picnic pavilions, which all have charcoal barbecue grills.  Pavilions #1, #2, #3 have lights and are lighted upon request.  The Patch Reef Park Tennis Center has sixteen (16) hard courts and one (1) pro court, a hitting wall, a pro shop, locker rooms and a concession area.
HOURS OF OPERATION:  The park opens daily at 8:00 A.M. and closes at 11:00 P.M., except Sunday when the park opens at 8:00 A.M. and closes at 6:00 P.M. in the fall and 8:00 P.M. in the spring
Athletic Fields: all athletic fields are open for public use whenever games are not already scheduled. Arrangements for their use should be made with the Athletic Program Coordinator at (561) 393-7826. Click here for Fields Rental Fees.
CONCESSIONS: the concession area in the park is a private enterprise and not operated by City personnel. It is open after 5:00 pm and/or whenever there is sufficient activity in the park to warrant its being open.
PICNICKING:  The picnic areas are equipped with grills, tables and restrooms.  Facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
PAVILIONS may be reserved at the Community Center with reservations available only to residents of Palm Beach County for $16.00 and non-residents for $48.00 .  For reservations call (561) 367-7035 .
TENT AND TRAILER CAMPING:  No individual family tent or trailer camping will be allowed.  Patch Reef Park is considered principally a day-use area.

Spanish River Park takes its name from the shallow fresh water stream, which once flowed along what is now the western edge of the park.
Since its channelization by the Corps of Engineers, the river has become known to boaters as part of  the intercoastal waterway. Early maps show the river as "Boca Raton's Lagoon", But late settlers and developers apparently borrowed a page from history and renamed it the old Spanish river. Remnants of the meandering stream bed are still visible in the park.
HOURS OF OPERATION: The Park opens no later than 8:00 A.M. and closes at sundown, seven days per week. Sundown is usually established by the U.S. Weather Bureau and is normally published in the weather section of the local newspaper.
PICNICKING: The picnic area of the park is equipped with grills, tables and restrooms. Facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
GROUP - Picnicking by groups (more than 25 people) is restricted to the group picnic areas (picnic shelters). The shelters are available to all responsible groups by reservation. Requests should be directed to the Boca Raton Recreation Services Department, Park Ranger Headquarters (phone 393-7815), Boca Raton, Florida.
YOUTH CAMPING: Overnight camping by organized youth groups at a pre-selected site in Spanish River Park is allowed under rules set forth by the City of Boca Raton.
Organized youth groups are six or more (maximum of 50) persons under 18 years of age who are:
  1. Members of or affiliated with a recognized organization such as Boy or Girl Scouts of America, Campfire Girls, Pathfinders, or similar organizations.
  2. Under the sponsorship for a particular outing of a recognized organization such as a church, school, benevolent or civic service club.
Requests should be directed in writing to the Recreation Services Director, Boca Raton Recreation Services Department, 201 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, Florida, 33432. Resident groups will be given preference on available days.
TENT AND TRAILER CAMPING: No individual family tent or trailer camping will be allowed. Spanish River Park is considered principally a day-use area.
FIRES: All fires must be in self-contained charcoal units. No open or wood fires will be permitted.
PETS: No pets will be allowed in the Park or on the beach.
SWIMMING: Access to the Beach and Atlantic Ocean is available from Spanish River Park. Lifeguards are on duty year 'round from 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.. Swimming in the lagoon and Intracoastal Waterway is prohibited.
FISHING: Fishing in the Intracoastal Waterway is one of the favorite pastimes of many park visitors. No fishing license is required for saltwater fishing from the shoreline. Surf fishing in designated swimming areas during normal swimming hours (9:00am to 5:00pm) is prohibited.
NATURE: We are sure you will find the flowers, plants and trees of the Park interesting, especially along the nature trails. Fires could destroy this natural area, so please be careful. Cooking should only be done where proper facilities are provided.
WILDLIFE: The quiet walks and shaded area are favored haunts for a wide variety of small birds. On occasion, larger and more spectacular wading birds are observed along the lagoon and Intracoastal Waterway.
Smoking and Alcoholic Beverages are Prohibited in City Parks
Please Do Not Feed the Animals in the Park!

HOURS OF OPERATION: The park opens at 8:00 A.M. and closes at sundown, seven days a week. Sundown is usually established by the U.S. Weather Bureau and is normally published in the weather section of the local newspaper.

PICNICKING: There are no picnic facilities available at this facility, however, both Spanish River and Red Reef Parks are adequately equipped with grills and tables available on a first come-first served basis. Both facilities are located just a short distance north on A1A.
FIRES: No fires will be permitted in park or on the beach.
TENT AND TRAILER CAMPING: No individual family tent or trailer camping will be allowed. South Beach Park is considered principally a day-use beach area.
PETS: No pets will be allowed in the park or on the beach.
SWIMMING: Access to the beach and the Atlantic Ocean is available from three (3) designated locations within the park. Pedestrian traffic is restricted to these elevated walkways. Lifeguards are on duty year round from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. with extended hours during the summer months.

South Beach Pavillion at SunsetNATURE: The plants found in this park are mostly native trees and shrubs commonly found on dunes. They have adapted themselves to withstand the continuous salt breeze while their major function is the stabilization of the constantly shifting sand. It is therefore prohibited to remove or destroy them in any way.
WILDLIFE: The walks and heavily foliaged areas are favored haunts for a wide variety of small birds. On occasion, larger and more spectacular web-footed birds are observed on the ocean side of the park.
FISHING: Surf fishing is one of the favorite pastimes of many park visitors. However, fishing in designated swimming areas during normal swimming hours (protected hours) is PROHIBITED.
Smoking and Alcoholic Beverages are Prohibited in City Park
